TBZ’s commitment to a diverse congregation makes it vital that we are able to raise substantial funds to cover our expenses. We build the temple's financial foundation in several ways: we "sell" tickets for High Holy Days at a reasonable price; we have an annual Kol Nidre Appeal, which raises approximately 20% of our annual budget; and we assess annual dues, which TBZ keeps below market rates to encourage the widest possible membership. At TBZ, no one is turned away for lack of funds.
We also benefit from a number of other ways of giving, including the tbzbrookline.org Online Store, offerings for celebrations, sponsorship of kiddushes, anniversary and birthday acknowledgments, and other various life-spiral events and celebrations.
As all nonprofit organizations, we do not sustain ourselves only by dues; we depend on the commitment of community members, through donations and gifts of time, to keep our shul vital and functioning.
